About
A few things about me.
I am a native of Kinston, NC and I have lived here in Georgia since 1993. I am married to Jena Kennedy, and we have a very interesting family. Erin is our oldest, and she is married to Andrew. They have blessed us with our first grandchild, Matt. Justin is a senior in high school this year, and he plays golf on his high school team. Mark is our youngest, and he is freshman in high school. He plays wide receiver on the freshman team.
I have been the pastor of Chestnut Ridge Christian Church in Marietta, Georgia for over ten years. In fact, the day Jena and I got married was my first day there as pastor. Talk about a busy day!! In the ten years I have been the pastor at CRCC we have seen a steady climb in our church attendance, remodeled our sanctuary, and built a new Education Building. The church is made up of a diverse group of people from all over North Fulton, Cherokee, and Cobb Counties. It is a pleasure and a joy to share our spiritual journeys at CRCC.
I have a passion for the local congregation, and helping local congregations become vital communities of faith as our society and culture changes rapidly here in the 21st century. As we equip our congregations to become missional outposts we get a taste of what it means to be faithful in our world today.
Outside of family and the church, I enjoy a variety of things. As a graduate of North Carolina State University, and having been a junior there in 1983 when Jimmy V. led the Wolfpack to the NCAA Basketball championship, I love all things NC State. I also love keeping up with current events and politics, and reading history and biographies. Having an eclectic taste when it comes to music, I enjoy all genres of music, but especially jazz, blues, classic rock, and Carolina beach music. I also love playing golf, working out, cooking, and surfing the internet.
